Ways To Keep Employees Engaged

You can pay your employees a good salary and give them good benefits, but if they feel like they have no say in their jobs, you are still likely to have unhappy, disengaged workers who will leap at the first chance to leave. To keep your workers happy and to increase efficiency and productivity at your business, you need to make sure your employees are engaged.
Make sure employees have the right tools
One of the surest ways to have your employees disengage is to not provide them with the right tools. Having the right tools not only ensures your employees are more productive, but it also makes them feel valued. If you get suggestions from employees about tools that would make their jobs easier, such as laptops instead of desktop computers, listen and then follow up. Let them know when it might be feasible to do so or why it's not possible.
Provide individual attention
One of the biggest complaints of owners of growing businesses is their loss of "one-on-one" time with employees. Though increasing the size of the staff can make it difficult to spend as much time with individual employees as you used to, you should make time at least monthly to talk to them, either in person or by video chat.
Provide training
Though some industries thrive on the "sink of swim" method of training, it is not a good way to deal with employees. Employees who sink may have thrived if only they had been given some training. And those who swim could probably do a lot more and be more productive with the right training. A business training program should include ongoing training so that employees can update their skills and add new ones. Providing a road to advancement will help to keep employees engaged.
